Plot Summary

"Lust of the Dead" is about a zombie/vampire clan that takes over a small town. It is headed by an old woman from Europe, named Amindra. She buys the local funeral home as a cover for her activities. She is aided by a young man named Martin - whose sick plan is to become a vampire, destroy Amindra, and live forever with his girlfriend - Katherine. Katherine or "Katie" meanwhile, loves the 'old' Marty, and hates what he's become. The plan falls apart and tragedy ensues. Martin redeems himself in the end though. With the help of a "fallen" priest named Julian – he takes on the entire vampire clan.

Main Characters:

Martin Renwald: 28, good looking. Once social and athletic… now morose and necrophobic.

Katherine Deleany: 28, Raven haired beauty. Smart cookie… can talk like a dock worker though, on occasion.

Amindra: A very old woman. Looks like the witch in “Snow White”. Actually a centuries old vampire. Appears frail… but can probably kick your ass.

Amos Largo: The undertaker… a large balding man steeped in arrogance, and a sense of humor sent straight from hell.

Alice Renwald: 50 something, but still sexy. Big hair – smokes a lot. Has to play ‘young’ in the beginning though.

Kevin Brooks: 28, reasonably good looking ex-jock (now gone to seed a bit). Professional redneck now.

Father Julian Anhalt: 50ish Ex-priest. Now a whisky priest…and a drunken prophet. He redeems himself in the end by becoming the Van Helsing type hero.

Jack Renwald: Old man in wheelchair… verbose, a real character.

Extras:

Aunt Renata: Corpse in beginning of story. Middle aged cancer victim in coffin.

Woman on bus: Generic.

Man on bus: Generic.

Tobey Masterson: 30 year old man – who has spent way to much time at the local pub. Opinionated, with nothing to back it up.

Terry: A nebbish 13 year old boy. Opinionated nerd.

Little girl at party: 10 year old girl – generic.

Tom: Character at welcome home party. Late 20’s – generic.

Scott: Ditto Tom.

Jan: Ditto Tom and Scott… only a girl.

Girl #2 at party: Late 20’s – kind-of a smart-ass.

Apparition: Young Irene (Jack Renwald’s late wife) as a ghost. A pretty girl in her 20’s. Petite – with a haunting face.

Minister: Preacher at funeral for Jack. 50ish. Looks like Mr. Goodwrench… a real goofball.

Fat Fran: Bartender at the local pub. Her name says it all. A real “Devine” type… only older.

Davey: Adorable little boy (I’ll probably cast my grandson!).

Davey’s mother: 30ish woman. Professional mom.

Vern: Davey’s Dad – 30’s – Suburban Dad type guy!

Old man in bar: That says it all.

Xtra Extras:

20 (approx.) people for funeral scene. All kinds of looks. Odder the better.

10 (approx.) for Martin’s welcome home party. These same 10 extras ‘can’ be used for funeral scene.

Three middle aged men for background in bar scene (generic).

Mr. Bogle: Goofy looking older man (corpse).

Mrs. Bogle: Old dead woman.

Teenage dead girl: Cute (or at least as cute as a corpse can be!).

3 zombies for scene with Ghetto Blaster Boy: They are feasting over guy already dead (all teenagers – or close).

15 zombies for church scene “There is no fear of death etc.” Could use the 3 from above. Minimal make-up, seen from a distance. Could even use dummies or cut-outs for some of them. Let’s be creative with some of this.

Church Basement Zombies: Seen only briefly – just need 4 from above group.

Silhouetted figures: Several (5 or 6) zombies in jail scene: No make-up. Only need a few people to move through jail in silhouette. Very brief. Anyone will do.

14 Graveyard Zombies: Make-up has to pretty good on these. They involve close-ups.

15 Zombies: For Scene where Al gets eaten (“We’ve come to ‘eat’ you, not to ‘greet’ you!”) Generic… only seen from distance (not counting the 5 who are already listed as minor characters).
