Mark C. Fleming

Mark C. Fleming passed away on March 26, 2008.

He was born on August 1, 1960, in Manila, Philippines, to Nieves Aquino and James H. Fleming, Sr.

Mark and his family left the Philippines in 1965. After living in Hong Kong and Hawai’i, they settled in Fallbrook in 1969.

He graduated from Fallbrook High School in 1978 and obtained his Associates Degree from UC Santa Barbara in 1981.

After college, he moved back to Hawai’i for a number of years and then resettled in the Fallbrook area.

Mark enjoyed life to the fullest: surfing with his brothers, friends and stepsons; traveling to places near and far; working as a sales representative; and creating beautiful artwork.

His art included murals, paintings and drawings. One project in particular was a mural that he recently completed of his favorite work of art.

He was a man whose compassion for others was always evident. He loved his daughter, Samantha, with all of his heart and thought the world of her. She was the number one thing in his life.

Mark is preceded in death by his mother Nieves and father James. He is survived by brothers James, Theodore, Darrell, and Peter; sisters Patricia Fleming-Smith, Rebecca Hui, Susan Woosley, Jacqueline Walsh, and Maya Inada; estranged wife Linnethe Fleming; stepsons Christian Johnson and Michael Johnson; and daughter Samantha; as well as numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, aunties and uncles, all of whom Mark cherished.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, April 2, at Berry-Bell & Hall Fallbrook Mortuary. There will be a private burial service for family members on Friday, April 4.
