Hartford talks about 'The Power of One'

FALLBROOK- Lt Colonel Charles Hartford, US Army, former student body president and graduate of Fallbrook Union High School in 1985, and from West Point in 1989, was a guest of the Rotary Club of Fallbrook and spoke about ‘The Power of One’ at their weekly luncheon meeting held at the Grand Tradition.

A Bronze Star recipient, Hartford shared personal anecdotes from his 19-year military service and five War on Terror support deployments, with combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. Currently Senior Deputy U.S. National Military Representative to NATO “SHAPE” (Supreme Headquarters, Allied Powers Europe) in Belgium, Hartford led the ground convoy portion of the successful Iraq war rescue efforts to secure the release of Jessica Lynch.

Hartford and the Fallbrook Rotary Club have an old and valuable connection with the Club’s and individuals’ financial and personal efforts enabling him to represent the State of California as one of two high school seniors selected to attend the 1985 U.S. Senate Youth Program, to attend President Reagan’s 2nd Inaugural, and be admitted into West Point.
