Paws in the Park coming April 19

FALLBROOK- The Fallbrook Healthcare Foundation will host its third annual fundraising event, The Ruth Redmann Paws in the Park Dog Fair, on Saturday, April 19, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Live Oak Park in Fallbrook.

“This is a tongue-in-cheek dog show and is very entertaining as well as a whole lot of fun for people with their dogs, and even for those folks who don’t have dogs,” committee chair Jack Rockwell said.

The community is invited to come browse the vendor booths, watch a variety of demonstrations in the demonstration ring, bid on specialty items in the silent auction, feast on an array of scrumptious food deliciously prepared by Marilee Lowe and friends, and participate in the dog show events where prizes will be awarded to canine competitors in numerous categories.

Events will include: Cutest Puppy, Smallest / Biggest Dog, Prettiest Dog – Female, Most Handsome – Male, So Ugly You’re Cute, Fastest Tail Wag, Best Trick and Owner Look-Alike. Awards will be presented throughout the day following each event by Fallbrook’s Honorary Mayor, John Harris, and the newly crowned Miss Fallbrook, Lynita Hernandez, and her court.

Registration is required for all dog show events and participants must be over the age of 18. The registration process and collection of fees will begin at 9 a.m. the morning of the dog show. Cost is only $3 per event.

To pre-register, pet owners may call the Foundation office at (760) 723-7713 or visit our website at http://www.fallbrookhealthcarefoundation.org and click on the Paws in the Park link to download a registration form.
