Code Enforcement office open Mondays

FALLBROOK — Wondering what to do about that old car rusting away on the street? Or how about the trash and overgrown brush that’s turned that nearby lot into a fire hazard – and an eyesore? Now, Fallbrook residents can walk into their new Code Enforcement storefront office and easily get the help they need.

“The idea was to have a face in the community,” said Pam Elias, Code Enforcement Chief.

New storefront offices are also being opened in Ramona, Bonita and Spring Valley. The pilot program is the first of its kind in San Diego County; more storefronts may be added.

“We want to provide residents with a convenient location where they can stop in and meet with their assigned Code Enforcement Officer,” Elias said.

Code Enforcement, part of the County Department of Planning and Land Use, takes complaints about abandoned vehicles, brushing and clearing, building, grading and storm water, graffiti, noise, trailer coaches, fire hazards and waste and zoning.

Residents can obtain information regarding County codes and other records that affect properties within their communities. The Fallbrook storefront is open on Mondays at the Fallbrook Sheriff’s Substation, 388 East Alvarado Street, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
