Music teachers honored by Rotary

FALLBROOK — Four Fallbrook Unified Elementary School District music teachers were introduced by Superintendent Janice Schultz to the Rotary Club of Fallbrook, who honored them at a recent meeting.

Schultz is the Rotary Club’s president elect for 2008-2009.

Each teacher received a commendation award from current Rotary Club President David Kauffman.

Darryl Buntin, with the district since 1994, teaches general music classes at Maie Ellis, Fallbrook Street and Frazier and regularly works with more than 1,500 students.

Kasey Jonesrebrandt, a music teacher since 1991, is now the Visual and Performing Arts Coordinator.

Jennifer Munoz, new with the district, teaches choir and drama at Potter as well as general music at La Paloma and Live Oak.

Sheila Stephen, first hired as a music teacher at San Onofre School in 1990, teaches general music for kindergarten through fourth grades at Mary Fay Pendleton and San Onofre schools, plus has more than 150 students in band and choir programs at both schools.

Part of the program featured the Potter Junior High Choir, under the direction of Munoz.
