T-shirt design contest highlights volunteering

Volunteer San Diego is seeking unique and meaningful artwork from children in grades K-12 and adults 18 and older for their 2008 t-shirt design contest. Entrants should create drawings that portray the fun and rewarding experience of volunteering.

Drawings will be judged by categories: K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12 and 18+.

The grand prize winner of the contest will have their drawing printed on the official Hands On San Diego t-shirt, worn by thousands of volunteers during HOSD, a week-long county-wide service event, September 22-28.

First place winners from each category will receive fun prizes and the top three contestants in each category will have their artwork displayed on the Volunteer San Diego Web site.

Official contest entry forms, rules and information about Hands On San Diego can be found at http://www.volunteersandiego.org or by calling Marisol at (858) 636-4131.

All T-shirt contest entries are due Friday, May 30.
