NCL named Outstanding Philanthropy

The Association of Fundraising Professionals’ (AFP) San Diego Chapter selected National Charity League (NCL) as its Outstanding Philanthropic Organization for 2007.

The seven NCL San Diego area chapters were recognized for their endless hours of service to the San Diego community at National Philanthropy Day, a nationwide celebration.

“This is a special time when we recognize and pay tribute to the contributions made by volunteers and philanthropists to our region and our nation,” said Rachel Jonte, National Philanthropy Day chair. “National Charity League is an important part of our community and we are honored to recognize them with this award.”

Accepting the award on behalf of NCL’s seven San Diego chapters was San Dieguito Chapter President Kathy Hoffmann-Grotting, who said that it was a humbling experience.

“There was a warm feeling of pride and camaraderie among us,” said Hoffmann-Grotting. “We are NCL sisters who were being recognized for the impact we have had on our community through our unique mission of training our daughters in service together, raising up the next generation of those who have developed a habit of serving others in the community.”
