Revitalization Council

The Fallbrook Revitalization Council has been in existence for 20 years and meets monthly. It is a community organization networking program initiated by the County of San Diego as an advisory body to the Board of Supervisors and the Fallbrook community.

Meetings are attended by key representatives of municipal, private nonprofit and for-profit organizations, who give brief reports on their organizations’ current projects, followed by a major topic presentation of 20 to 30 minutes.

The goal of this organization is to provide a forum for the exchange of information concerning important Fallbrook issues and to provide an opportunity for collaboration by organizations when appropriate.

Last year, the Revitalization Council started a Town Meeting program to create educational programs of major importance to the community at large. The first Town Meeting was on the issue of water shortage and water conservation programs affecting Fallbrook.

The program, organized by Keith Lewinger, general manager of Fallbrook Public Utility District, consisted of reports by top level representatives of the San Diego Water Authority, the Metropolitan Water District, San Diego Association of Governments, Fallbrook Public Utility District and the Rainbow Municipal District.

The first Town Meeting drew an overflow crowd, which has encouraged the council to host several more this year.

Topics being considered for future meetings include traffic, law enforcement, gateways and wayfinding master plan, town center plan, art and tourism and a Fallbrook Land Conservancy progress report.

The program selection committee is comprised of Vince Ross, revitalization chairperson and president, Fallbrook Village Association; Keith Lewinger, general manager, Fallbrook Public Utility District; and Lt. Alex Dominguez, Fallbrook Sheriff’s Substation.
