The pursuit of truth requires courage

In the last 30 years the ‘progressive’ nations of the world have begun to accept the notion that good and bad are a matter of personal taste (feelings) rather than objective evidence or truth.

See if you can identify this behavior – by the objective evidence:

1. It causes serious damage to body tissues unsuited for the practice

2. It puts practitioners at a high risk of contracting a deadly disease

3. It diverts billions of dollars in public and private funds for medical research and care that could benefit victims of less preventable illnesses like cancer

4. Its practitioners have a suicide rate five to six times greater than the general population even in countries where approval of the behavior is the highest (i.e. the Netherlands, Denmark and New Zealand)

5. It is responsible for a deadly epidemic that has spread to the general population

The acceptance/approval of this destructive behavior has occurred thanks to: the notion of “your truth, my truth – no truth,” silencing objections through intimidation/name calling and claiming the behavior is caused by a gene in spite of a complete lack of credible scientific evidence. The credible scientific evidence we aren’t told: the earlier intervention is sought, the better the chance for a normal life.

We should not treat people who engage in unhealthy behaviors badly, but neither should we encourage it through celebrations, special privileges/protections or teaching our children abnormal is normal.

The pursuit of truth, “that sets us free,” requires more courage than feeling good.
