Potter students earn 'citizenship' awards

Potter Junior High counselor Robert DeVault recently recognized the school’s four Students of the Month for their citizenship at a Rotary Club of Fallbrook luncheon.

Seventh-graders David Guzman and Cristy Lie Ma Barnes and eighth-graders Lizeth Palma and Felipe Jimenez received certificates from Rotary President David Kauffman and a hearty round of applause from the membership.

DeVault, conveying comments from the students’ teachers, said, “Cristy Barnes is a model student in both citizenship and scholarship. David Guzman is always responsible, prepared and willing to help teachers and students when needed. Lizeth Palma is the perfect student, always completing her work for more than needed for the A’s she gets and Felipe Jimenez quietly exhibits those behaviors which indicate an outstanding, fantastic student citizen.”

The Potter Student of the Month program is an ongoing part of the Rotary’s efforts to support, reward and encourage outstanding behavior among the youth of the community. For more information visit http://www.fallbrookrotary.org.
