Freaney to perform recital at Palomar

Classical pianist Robert Freaney, a resident of Fallbrook, will perform at Palomar College on Sunday, April 27, at 2 p.m. in the D-10 recital hall next to the Howard Brubeck Theater. Admission is free.

Freaney, who has been studying performance piano with Palomar’s artist-in-residence, Dr. Peter Gach, since 2006, has worked on his college piano recital for a year.

During the performance, Freaney will perform works by Prokofiev, Schumann, Beethoven, Bach, Brahms and Ginastera.

“This will be a big stretch for me,” Freaney stated. “The Schumann Arabesque and Brahms Intermezzo have proved to be great challenges, but I believe I have captured what the composers wanted in these pieces, as well as in the other piano works to be played.”

“All the selections have a distinct sound that the performer has to bring to the audience,” said Freaney. “I hope those in Fallbrook who are interested in this type of performance will be able to attend my recital at Palomar College.”
