Free self-defense class for women

FALLBROOK — United Studios of Self Defense (USSD) schools will offer free self-defense training to women and young ladies on April 26 in observance of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

The National Institute of Justice and the Centers for Disease Control found that 17.7 million women in the United States have been victim of a rape or attempted rape at some point in their lives.

Each USSD school, including Fallbrook’s at 833 South Main Avenue, Suite E, will provide the community with a 60-minute class focused on basic self-defense principles that can save a woman or young girl’s life.

The class will include self-defense striking, escapes for common grab situations and strategies for not becoming a victim.

All classes will be taught by professionally trained black belt instructors in a safe and friendly setting.

Reservations are required, as space will be limited. For class times at the Fallbrook studio, call (760) 723-7815.
