Thrift store practices unsightly

I respect the effort and good intentions behind the St. Vincent de Paul thrift store operated by the Catholic church here in town, but the practice they have developed of putting large amounts of used furniture, exercise equipment, office supplies and more outside the front of their store in the parking/driveway area, right alongside Main Avenue, is awful.

This creates a poor image as one travels through our town. It gives the impression of a daily “yard sale” and downgrades other businesses along the street.

Some days the amount of goods outside the store must exceed the amount inside the store, from the clutter that is visible. Why do they want to negatively impact our town like this?

The other thrift stores, operated by the Angel Society organization and St. John’s, don’t do this. I would hope the workers at St. Vincent de Paul would take a look at the negative aspect of this and do the right thing – keep it inside.
