Huber receives Eagle Award

Last November, Daren Huber of Boy Scout Troop 737 earned Scouting’s highest rank and on March 21 he was presented with the Eagle Award at a special Eagle Scout Court of Honor. Friends, family and fellow scouts were present to honor Daren.

There were fond memories of 10 years of scouting presented in a slideshow and humorous glimpses into Boy Scout campouts were shared. Parents Keith and Laurie Huber, Scoutmaster Chuck Reeder, Committee Chair Charles Stubbs and previous Scoutmaster Bob Hancock were thanked for their dedication.

One requirement for obtaining the rank of Eagle is to provide leadership in completing a service project in the community. Daren chose to re-landscape the atrium at his church, the Christian Science Church on Fallbrook Street. He and 16 volunteers put in more than 200 hours removing old plants; mixing and mounding soil; adding plants, boulders and sprinklers; and even building a rustic bench.
