A regional summit for disaster recovery was held Friday, April 18, in San Diego. The event was sponsored by State Senator Dennis Hollingsworth, The Rock Church, Mountain Empire Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
In attendance were James and Kathy Beebe of Fallbrook CERT, North County CERT Board President Mike Crain, Deputy Operations Section Chief Bigs Parker and Planning Section Chief Ken Price.
Stephen Abbot, battalion chief with North County Fire Protection District, and Allison Abbot, a well-known medic and member of Fallbrook CERT, were also present.
Crain said about the summit, “It’s encouraging to see the different government agencies wanting to put together a collaborative effort. We at CERT have been working on a plan for response and recovery by working with the different agencies for about two years now.”
Speakers at the day-long meeting included Senator Dennis Hollingsworth, County Supervisor Bill Horn and many other fine speakers.
