Outreach to help fire survivors May 17

FALLBROOK — On May 17 from 10 a.m. to noon there will be an outreach event held at the Community Center to help educate survivors of last fall’s wildfire on how to deal with stress, self-care, relaxation and coping skills.

The goal of this event is to raise awareness of the fact that survivors of the firestorm are far from having their lives back. There are still many people who have not yet started to rebuild. This event will serve as a gentle reminder to the community that these people are still trying to regain some kind of normalcy in their lives.

The staff at 305 West had the pleasure of meeting two of the women from the Wild Fire Recovery Project, Kelly Locke and Esmeralda Sandoval. The staff was so impressed with their dedication to helping the survivors that as a Fallbrook business they decided to donate their time and product to this nonprofit event for the survivors.

Anyone who has questions, or would like to make a donation, can contact program director Rebecca Culjat at (760) 787-0408.
