Operation GI Joe

The Fallbrook Senior Center has launched “Operation GI Joe,” a program to collect and send requested items to members of our armed forces now serving overseas.

The following items are needed: new or used baseballs and gloves, playing cards, beef jerky, Chapstick, Top Ramen dry soup, nuts in cans, Reader’s Digest, pocket books, chewing gum, cough drops, toilet articles put into plastic bags, prepaid phone calling cards, wrapped hard candy, shower caps.

Please take items to the Senior Center at the corner of Fallbrook Street and Heald Lane from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

If you have anyone in the service and would like them to receive a box, their name and complete address may be sent to the Center.

If you would prefer to help with postage, donations of money will be accepted. Each package will cost $10 to mail.

What a great way to remember those who are doing so much for us.
