Warning sign cited

Over this past year, we have all seen the sign on I-15 going south on the west side of the freeway shortly before the CHP checkpoint: “Warning…NoGravelQuarry.com.”

Some of us see the sign every day; some occasionally; some, for the first time. It is our reminder that our southwest hills are in danger of being destroyed by the potential invasion of an open pit mine in our communities.

We, as concerned people, will stop this project; have no doubt about that.

Now, Riverside County has been ‘forced’ to issue a citation to “Save Our Southwest Hills” and has asked that the sign be taken down.

‘Someone’ complained. Any ideas ‘someone’ might have been? ‘Someone’ with some clout, I would guess.

We will have that sign at the ‘Living Sign Event’ coming up Sunday, May 4. This will help remind us of the importance of standing up together as the communities who will be affected. Please support our quality of life.
