Warriors make big splash at relay meet

On Saturday, April 19, Fallbrook Warriors swim team competed in the 41st annual Dick Draz’s “Iron Man” relays at Palomar Community College in San Marcos.

Fallbrook took home the big trophy given out to the swim team with the top overall combined score of boys and girls. With 38 different relay events, medals were given out to swimmers in first through third place and ribbons to those in fourth through sixth place.

There were 16 teams from around the county that came to compete in the meet and there are no individual events in the meet, just two- or four-person relay teams.

One swimmer said, “It was nice to swim on the relay teams because you all work together as a team, not for your own individual result.”

“The kids look forward to this meet every year,” said Coach Sean Redmond. “It’s a lot of fun, even more so when you bring home that trophy.”
