GATE students visit the Getty Museum

La Paloma GATE student Elise Dominguez and her mother enjoy their visit at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles.

Recently, a bus full of excited La Paloma students, parents and teachers traveled from Fallbrook to Los Angeles, braving rush hour traffic as they set off for a day at the J. Paul Getty Museum.

This museum “seeks to further knowledge of the visual arts and to nurture critical seeing by collecting, preserving, exhibiting and interpreting works of art of the highest quality.” The Getty provides resources for teachers, guided by the California State content standards, and offers Guided and Self-Guided School visits.
