Harry J. McKee

Harry J. McKee died Friday, May 2, 2008, at the age of 98. Harry was born in Union Township, Ohio, July 30, 1909, to Samuel and Elizabeth (Hawkins) McKee and married Agnes Swisher in 1941. He served in the Philippines as a Navy “SeaBee” during World War II and was a 50-year member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

In 1949, the family moved to Coolidge, Arizona, where he and his wife lived until 2002 when they relocated to Oceanside. He worked for many years as an auto mechanic and retired from the State of Arizona. Harry enjoyed baseball, golf, reading, and the daily crossword puzzle.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Agnes, daughter Jane McKee of Fallbrook, CA, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Guy McKee, sisters Sara Henderson, Iva McBride, Helen Richter, and Violetta Snyder.

Interment will be at Valley of the Sun Memorial Park, Chandler, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to a charity of your choice.
