Rally for Children announces gala luncheon

Rally for Children will celebrate 15 years of service to the greater Fallbrook community with “A Day in the Country” fundraising gala luncheon at the beautiful Twin Oaks House in San Marcos on Tuesday, June 3. Attendees at the event will be able to view this wedding and event house that has been designated as a Historic Landmark, with its lush garden featuring rose-covered arbors, flowering meadows, opulent orchards, and rolling hills in addition to a Victorian schoolhouse, circa 1891. Rally for Children, a non-profit organization, will use funds raised from this event to support their annual Arts in the Park and other charitable projects and programs benefiting children, according to B.J. Maus, President.

Guest speaker, Sue Kirby, who spoke to the group in 1994 shortly after it was formed, will return to delight attendees with her delightful wit, according to Sue Murphy, Co-Chair of the event. “She is the harried housewife, the muddled mom and the crazy friend who takes time out of life to celebrate the ordinary with laughter,” says Murphy. Kirby has earned fans over the years as a motivational speaker at hospitals, women’s organizations, non-profits, retail and trade associations, and at many company seminars. An avid floral designer, Kirby will create a floral masterpiece while sharing her unique perspective on life, and a lucky guest will go home with the prize.

The buffet luncheon will be held in an elegant chiffon-draped tent and will feature culinary creations at various stations throughout. There will be choices among gourmet salad bars, vegetable and fruit displays, assorted breads, and prize-winning desserts. Preceding lunch, a cocktail hour will begin at 11 a.m. and will give guests a chance to stroll around the landmark site. Lunch will be served at 12 noon with Sue Kirby speaking at 1 p.m. There is ample parking. Twin Oaks House and Gardens are located at the Deer Springs Road exit off the I-15, about 15 minutes from Fallbrook.

Tickets for the luncheon are $50 and must be obtained by May 15, says Jackie Edgerton, co-chairman. To request an invitation, please call Deb Bertuzzi at (760) 723-6228.
