A Tribute to Mom

When we were children, we thought you could walk on water…

Well, we found out we were wrong.

When we were teenagers, we thought we could walk all over you…

Well, we found out we were wrong.

When we were 20-somethings, we thought we could walk out of your life…

Well, we found out we were wrong.

When we were young marrieds, we thought we could walk in your shoes…

Well, we found out we were wrong.

When we finally grew up, and knew what you meant to us, we thought we

deserved only to walk a step behind you.

Well, we found out we were wrong.

Because…

You never thought you could walk on water…

You didn’t allow us to walk all over you…

You weren’t worried that we might walk out of your life…

You were flattered that we would want to walk in your shoes…

But you didn’t want us to walk a step behind you.

Because all you ever wanted was for us to walk beside you, and love you as much

as you loved us.

But that, Mom, we could never do. Because as we found out, almost too late,

a Mother’s love is Boundless.
