Fallbrook wins third in a row over Oceanside

FALLBROOK — At the April Senior Challenge Cribbage match on April 24, the Fallbrook Senior Center cribbage team won 87 games to Oceanside Senior Center team’s 74 wins. For the second month in a row, seven of the top nine places were won by the Fallbrook team.

Leading the way this month were Ray Lanoue, Ed Wozniak and Roy Cook. All three peggers had six wins with one skunk. Lanoue’s winning margin was 23 points better than Wozniak’s. Cook trailed Wozniak by nine points. The next three places went to Alex Lawson, Ted Moody and Lilo Mendizza, who each had five wins and one skunk.

An Albertsons store in Oceanside donated a $25 gift card that was won by Ann Flaherty of the winning Oceanside team.

Matches are held on the fourth Thursday of each month at the Vista Elks Lodge, 1947 East Vista Way, beginning at 12:30 p.m. The next match will be May 29. The Lodge can be contacted by phone at (760) 724-1968.
