Six streets slated for sidewalk improvements

Six Fallbrook streets are on the list of roads scheduled for sidewalk improvements following a May 7 vote by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors to advertise for bid and award a contract to replace damaged curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and driveway approaches and to construct curb ramps.

The work will make repairs or improvements on the east side of the 900 block of Alturas Road, on Aviation Road at Main Avenue and on the south side of the Aviation Road 130 feet east of Main Avenue, on the south side of the 1000 block of Fallbrook Street, on Juliette Place at Magarian Road, on McDonald Road at Fallbrook Street, and on Old Stage Road 30 feet south of Old Stage Court.

The projects to be repaired were determined through regular inspections by the county’s Department of Public Works, citizen requests, and planning and sponsor group recommendations. The estimated $400,000 cost for the work throughout the unincorporated county will be funded by gas tax revenue.

The work is scheduled to begin in September and is expected to be complete in approximately four months.
