Fragmented Democrats

Here we are in an historic neck-in-neck battle between the equal rights of people of color and women in America. Which candidate will be the first to break down the barrier of always having a white male for president?

John Kennedy broke the religious barrier by being the first Roman Catholic. They said it would never be done because all good Catholics follow the rule of the Pope over the rule of law. Wrong! Kennedy did it.

The Democrats have a chance to make history with another barrier-breaker. Too bad there is so much investment on both sides that it is splitting the power of the party and affecting the chance of Democrats winning this election, despite the fact our economy has not been this bad since the Great Depression and our safety more at risk nationally and internationally, thanks to the poor leadership of G.W. Bush.

It is time for one of these Democrats to drop out and fully support the other. Perhaps even take the offer of vice president. In my opinion, Senator Clinton has the most experience and political clout to fulfill the promises they are both making. She has Bill Clinton to act as world ambassador to mend the torn relations internationally and she has the most promise of defeating the Republicans. Obama will make a wonderful president – with more experience – in eight years, especially if he is acting vice president.

Come on, Dems. Let’s not mess this one up. United we stand. Divided we fall.
