Larry Robinson and Friends in concert May 24

FALLBROOK — Larry Robinson, a longtime favorite Fallbrook performer, will perform in concert on Saturday, May 24, at 7:30 p.m. as part of the Fallbrook Americana Music Series (FAMS) at the Fallbrook Woman’s Club, 238 West Mission Road.

Robinson and his rich baritone voice has been heard in many settings but not in a FAMS concert to date.

“Our concert setting is quite different from, say, singing in a club or doing background music at a special event,” says FAMS Co-chair Phee Sherline. “In a concert the performer has organized the music into cohesive sets which generates a sharpened interest in the material, and the audience has come for the express purpose of concentrating on the performer. Friends, wine and food do not distract. This setting draws the very best from a performer.”

Robinson has expanded his act to include son Evan and daughter Melody as backup vocalists. David Beldock joins them on guitar.

The purpose of the Fallbrook Americana Music Series (FAMS) is to bring to Fallbrook musicians with roots in American music who otherwise would not be heard here. FAMS has hosted artists from Kentucky, Illinois, Vermont, New Mexico, Texas, Wyoming and many parts of California.
