Angels' donation benefits swimmers

FALLBROOK — The Angel Society recently presented the Boys & Girls Club of North County with a check for $10,000. Club CEO Abe Oliveras said, “We appreciate very much the support the Angel Society commits to our club every year to support our Swim Program.”

Four two-week “Learn How to Swim” sessions will commence June 16. The pool is open for recreational swimming from 1 to 5 p.m. during the summer months.

Other charities receiving support were:

• Fallbrook Food Pantry: $4,000

• Fallbrook Student of the Month Program: $2,500

• Fallbrook Health Care Foundation: $2,500

• Fallbrook Gem & Mineral Society: $1,500

• Fallbrook Land Conservancy: $2,000

• Fallbrook Trails Council/Santa Margarita Park: $3,000

Donations totaling $2,200 were made to the following:

• Operation Backpack, a community service project started by Wade Colburn under the auspices of the 4-H club

• Eagle Scouts Andrew Arnoldto and Trevor LaBanz for their projects

Fallbrook High track and field team

• Bonsall Fallbrook Little League

Donations for the months of April and May totaled $27,500. Funds are raised through the sale of donated merchandise at the Angel Thrift Shop at 1002 South Main Avenue.
