Blackwater, community action subject of meeting

The June 5 meeting of the Fallbrook Democratic Club will feature a presentation on the successful community effort to stop Blackwater Worldwide from establishing a military training facility near the town of Potereo in southern San Diego County.

David Wiley, a member of the executive board of San Diego Veterans for Peace, will discuss the ongoing efforts to stop Blackwater and discuss how community action can affect public policy. A 30-minute documentary on the subject will be shown.

Although Blackwater had to abandon their effort in Potereo, they are attempting to establish another facility in the Otay Mesa area.
