Meadowood revised plans submitted to county

FALLBROOK — Pardee Homes has resubmitted plans to the County of San Diego for its proposed Meadowood development in Fallbrook. The proposed development is located just east of Interstate 15 and north of State Route 76/Pala Road.

The Meadowood project was initially submitted to the County in 2004. After collaborative efforts between the County Department of Planning and Land Use, Fallbrook community groups and Pardee’s internal design team, the project has proposed significant revisions and is now ready to move forward through the County planning process.

Jimmy Ayala, Director of Community Development with Pardee Homes, who leads the Meadowood project, is working to obtain land use approvals.

“We are extremely pleased with the project’s design and believe that Meadowood captures the character of the Fallbrook community and provides housing in a sensitive plan that will preserve key environmental resources,” said Ayala. “Meadowood will be a source of pride for Fallbrook residents.”

The project site will incorporate 858 single- and multi-family homes on nearly 400 acres, with approximately half of that land designated as permanent open space. Meadowood will also include natural open space areas, four miles of hiking and equestrian trails and walkways, an 8.5-acre community park, pocket parks and a 12.4-acre elementary school site.

The Meadowood community project will also conform to the County’s General Plan Update, which embraces smart growth principles in future development of the unincorporated areas.

Press release submitted by Pardee Homes.
