Fitness Boot Camp draws attention on Mission Road

FALLBROOK — Have the Marines moved their maneuvers to the streets of Fallbrook? Early morning commuters on South Mission Road may think so when they see the flurry of unusual activity going on around the perimeter of local gym, Club Paradise.

The men and women participating in Fallbrook’s first Fitness Boot Camp have been observed running through horizontal ladders, jumping hurdles and performing pushups, crunches, lunges, jumping jacks and other feats of athletic endeavors.

‘Drill instructors’ Jeaneane Colombero and Laura Wheeler have innovative ways to motivate and inspire participants to new levels of fitness and health. The energetic, fun activities change daily, serving to jumpstart fitness goals, add variety to a stale routine or just get that “summer ready” physique.

A ‘Top Gun’ challenge is offered to the trainee who demonstrates the most overall improvement in each camp, in the categories of upper and lower body strength, core strength, cardiovascular conditioning and weight.

Prizes include a 50-percent discount off the next boot camp registration, a 12-week nutritional package, a gift certificate to the new Fresco’s Ristorante and more.

Registration is now starting for the next boot camp, which will begin June 12. Cost is $199 for three days per week for four weeks. Camp times include morning and evening selections.
