DAR installs new board

VISTA — The Monserate Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution installed a new board of officers on Thursday, May 15.

Membership is available to women 18 and over who can satisfactorily prove they are lineal descendants of an ancestor who rendered civil, military or naval service or provided material aid to the American Revolution between April 1775 and November 1783.

The Society is committed to patriotic service, preservation of national treasures, conservation, service to veterans and promotion of excellence in the schools. They award students with ROTC medals and certificates, American History Essay medals and cash awards, good citizenship medals and awards as well as certificates to deserving students in family consumer science.

Monserate Chapter meets at the Vista Valley Country Club on the third Thursday of every month, October through May. For membership information, contact Beverlee Stuart-Borok at (951) 325-8807 or Patsy Hall at (951) 302-6140.
