Mission Oaks assumes spot in Major Market

Community spirit is about to take another leap forward with the announcement from Major Market that Mission Oaks National Bank will occupy the spot Citibank has had in their Fallbrook store.

“[Mission Oaks] will be more involved in the community,” said Sam Logan, owner/partner of Major Market. “We called [Mission Oaks], invited them to take the spot, and we are happy to say they have accepted it.”

Mission Oaks, while founded in Temecula, has undeniably strong Fallbrook roots. “Fifty of our 325 founding stockholders are Fallbrook residents,” said Gary Votapka, president and chief executive officer.

A Fallbrook resident of 18 years, Votapka has a well-established history in banking and says he loves this community.

“I call [Fallbrook] ‘Hometown America;’ I love the sense of community here,” he said.

Of having a branch located inside Major Market, Votapka said he is pleased to make banking so convenient for residents. “They can do their shopping and banking in one stop,” he explained.

Many are already familiar with Mission Oaks National Bank.

“Many individuals and businesses here have already entrusted their banking needs to us,” Votapka said. “We offer many features. Businesses and merchants especially like the number of options they have.”

The new Fallbrook location will be the bank’s fifth branch and the first in a supermarket. Their other locations include two in Temecula, one in Ontario and another soon-to-open in Lake Elsinore. In addition, they have two loan production offices – one in San Diego and one in Arizona.

To have Mission Oaks associated with Major Market is a winning combination, Logan and his partner, Dick London, said. Votapka is just as positive.

“It’s a great pairing; both of our companies are very service- and relationship-oriented,” Votapka said. “It is a good opportunity for us and we are committed to giving back to the community.”

“I’m very excited about this,” London said. “Since we are both so service-oriented, we can learn from each other.”

Citibank will cease their operation inside the market at the close of day on Friday, June 27.

In order to help customers with their options, Mission Oaks already has representatives on-site six days a week to answer questions and explain all the services they have available, including personal and business accounts, money market accounts, loan services, Internet banking and more.

Representatives are available in the morning hours on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Assistance is also available on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Beginning Monday, June 29, Mission Oaks will have a full staff on hand in the store branch.

Baking has been offered inside Major Market’s Fallbrook store since 1997. The Bank of Escondido will assume the banking concession in Major Market’s Escondido store, Logan said.
