Swim lessons begin Monday

The annual summer swim lessons at the Fallbrook High School pool will begin Monday.

The first session runs from June 9-13, and the one-week sessions will run through late July. Signups will take place June 7 and June 8 at the pool between noon and 4 p.m.

Sean Redmond, the coach of the Fallbrook High School varsity girls swim team and also the coaching director of the Fallbrook Associated Swim Team, will be the head instructor. Redmond will be joined by approximately 20 staff members.

The swim lessons cover various age groups and range from parent-tot classes to competitive stroke instruction. “It’s based strictly on skill and ability level,” Redmond said.

A total of 40 swim sessions will comprise the summer lessons; five different 40-minute classes will be held each day. The pool will also be the site of 16 diving instruction sessions; each week will include a morning class for beginning divers and an afternoon session for advanced diving skills.

The cost for each session is $40.
