A poem about Fallbrook

I am submitting a poem that I wrote when I first moved to Fallbrook in 2007 and have now embraced this poem, since my father passed away in Hawaii on 4/30/08. Being in Fallbrook has been the most wonderful warm and accepting feeling; there just are not enough words to express the gratitude.

Fallbrook Morning

Walking on the crisp, wet grass…

the echoing sound of wings,

flapping furiously catches my ear,

the sight of a beautiful, red-breasted Hummingbird

suddenly appears before me…

the distance of a touch…

she hovers for what seems to be an eternity…

Glances at me… as if to say…

“Good Morning, My Love! The Day is Good!”

Erase the sadness from your Heart and move on!”

Then she buzzes to a dew-filled flower…

And in a blink of an eye… she was Gone!

This is the morning of Fallbrook.
