Harold Flake Rogers

Harold Flake Rogers was born in Snowflake, AZ, on August 16, 1916, and passed away in the home of his daughter Cheryl on June 4, 2008, in Ramona.

Harold was the oldest of two brothers and one sister and was raised in the northern Arizona mountains until his teenage years, when his family moved to Phoenix. He had many jobs as a boy to help his mother out. From delivering newspapers to working odd jobs, he was always happiest when he was working.

Harold married Elynore Snell and left Arizona to come to Southern California. He worked for Lockheed aircraft for more than 30 years in Burbank.

Active in the LDS church, Harold served as a Temple worker in the Los Angeles and San Diego LDS temples; he also served a mission twice for the LDS Church. He was Stake President of the Reseda Stake from the late 1950s to 1973, when he retired and moved to Fallbrook, where he then became the Bishop of the Fallbrook First Ward.

Harold is survived by children Robert (Chieko), Oceanside, Joanie Skarda and Cheryl Yeaton Harvey (Kevin), Ramona, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Elynore Rogers.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Vitas Hospice, 9655 Granite Ridge, Ste. 300, San Diego, CA 92123.
