Award-winning dancer to give workshop

FALLBROOK — Join Ramaa Bharadvaj, a nationally telecast PBS performer and recipient of multiple Lester Horton Dance Awards, in the second event of the Performing Arts Series on Sunday, June 22, at Hilltop Center.

She will teach a “Global Altar” Peace and Prosperity Dance Workshop at 11:30 a.m. followed by a vegetarian appetizer buffet at 12:30 p.m.

Bharadvaj has come to be regarded not only as a distinguished dancer but also as a teacher, writer and dance activist of distinction. As the director of Angahara Dance Ensemble, she has choreographed six productions, including the critically acclaimed “Panchantantra: Animal Fables of India” and more than 70 individual dances and collaborative works.

Her work has prompted Los Angeles Times dance critic Sasha Anawait to write: “She was stunning, truly the most beguiling, evocative and articulate Indian dancer of real stature I had ever seen in Los Angeles. She possesses the divine.”
