Little selected for National Futures Tournament

Fallbrook High School sophomore Kyle Little was selected for field hockey’s National Futures Tournament.

Little was selected for the Region 11 under-16 team following the regional tournament May 17-18 at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista.

“It’s great. It’s wonderful for her to stand out,” said Fallbrook field hockey coach Kathy Waite.

The regional tournament resulted in the selection of 16 players for the under-16 team and 16 players for the under-19 team. The national tournament will take place in July at the Olympic Training Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

What position Little will play at the national tournament is to be determined, but she has been a midfielder and forward on the Fallbrook High School field hockey team.

Fallbrook High School senior Roslyn Reynoso was selected as an alternate for the under-19 team. “Just the fact that she made alternate is wonderful,” Waite said.

Reynoso, who was Fallbrook’s goalkeeper for the 2007 season, was competing for one of two goalie berths on the regional team.

Four other Fallbrook High School players also participated in the regional Futures Tournament. Emily Badillo, Lydia Brambila, and Lizzy Eskue put themselves into consideration for the under-19 team while Lauren Hughey was a potential member of the under-16 regional team.
