Rattlesnake warning

The warm weather can bring with it an unseen danger: the rattlesnake. Usually hidden in rocks or bushes, it can strike out when disturbed.

CAL FIRE cautions everyone to be extra careful this time of year. They should watch where they step and not reach under bushes or rocks. No one should put his hands into any area that he cannot see into.

Hiking boots and protective clothing should be worn when using the backcountry trails. If bitten, one should stay calm and get medical attention promptly.
