'Peter Pan' comes to Moonlight Amphitheater

VISTA — Headstrong fairies, treacherous pirates, ticking crocodiles and the high adventure of Neverland all descend on the Moonlight Amphitheater this summer as Encore Youth Theater and Premiere for Kids present the opening production – “Peter Pan” – in Moonlight’s 26th season.

“Peter Pan” will play June 19-22 at 8 p.m.

J.M. Barrie’s enduring tale of the boy who never grows up will be presented with a cast of 98 children under the direction of Randall Hickman.

“I am so thrilled to get the chance to bring this huge production to the Moonlight Amphitheater this summer,” said Hickman.

“‘Peter Pan’ is filled with colorful costumes, a huge pirate ship and tree house built right to the Moonlight’s proscenium walls, dramatic fight scenes and, of course, the flying of Peter, Wendy, Michael and John,” Hickman said. “We have hired ZFX, the premiere flying company in the United States. What they have our kids doing in the air is amazing.”

Moonlight Amphitheater’s gates open at 6:30 p.m. Guests are welcome to bring food and dine on the lawn before the show starts.

For tickets call VISTIX at (760) 724-2110 between noon and 5 p.m. daily.
