Sip and nibble your way through Wine & 'A Bite' Art Walk!

The town is buzzing about the new Fallbrook Wine & “A Bite” Art Walk. “We want to show off the art, the culture, the food and the wine of our area because it is a wonderful place to visit,” said Kim Murphy a local realtor who also represents the Fallbrook Area Visitor’s Bureau.

The event will take place the third Saturday of every month starting with June 21 and ending on September 20. Guests will be given a map with directions to each venue. Four different venues will be featured each month where various types of art will be performed, displayed or experienced. Each venue owner will choose art that will align itself with the theme of the store or gallery. For example, one venue, a surfboard shop, will have a surfboard shaper on display.

Murphy explains that guests will be able to get a small glass of wine at each of the four stops and a bite of food from local restaurants featured. “It will be wonderful. We will be pairing the wine with the food,” she said.

The wine pairing and serving is an art in itself. Murphy explained that the volunteers are “ABC” (Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control) certified and are trained to serve wine. The restaurants first choose the wine that they believe will complement their food, then the winery representatives will be given a chance to agree or disagree with the choice. They have even tried to pair the wine and food that will complement specific venues.

At the inaugural event guests will enjoy “bites” from La Caseta Mexican restaurant, Trupiano’s, Lace Apron and Café des Artistes. The wine served that evening will be from the Orfilia Winery.

The art experiences for the first event will include fine gourd art at the Fallbrook Art Center, hands-on ceramics and printmaking at the Art Campus of Fallbrook, fine paintings at the Jacques Company & Gallery and talented artist Fernanda Natale painting at Brandon Gallery.

“It ends at seven o’clock so we hope that people will then enjoy any of our local restaurants,” Murphy commented.
