Stokes to present exhibition June 22

FALLBROOK — Lifelong Fallbrook resident artist Brett Stokes will host a one-day art exhibition called “The Heart of the Native American” at his studio/gallery Sunday, June 22, from 1 to 6 p.m.

The showing represents Stokes’ most current work from the last year and a half and is primarily Indian-themed, expressing the artist’s love for his ancestry and personal beliefs.

Featured will be a painting entitiled “Yona,” which was awarded second place at the nationally acclaimed “Trail of Tears Art Show” of the Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah, OK. This is Stokes’ third award out of four years participating in the juried show.

Stokes’ work will also include his most recent photography that is an expression of the beauty of nature and more.
