Local teenager needs help

Last week, Carissa Fluke, a 14-year-old sophomore (this year) at Fallbrook High, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. She is currently undergoing intensive chemotherapy at Rady Children’s Hospital, where she is receiving the finest medical care available.

The prognosis is good, but she needs the help, love and support of her friends and neighbors here in Fallbrook. Carissa has a loving family, but their strapped finances are now unbearable due to the medical expenses and the costs of going back and forth daily to the hospital.

A heartfelt request is going out to the town of Fallbrook to donate whatever they can to an account established at Downey Savings here in town. The account number is #8605017976; her mom’s name is on the account: Lisa Hardinge.

If you would like to help in a special way and need to speak to someone, please call Carissa’s sister, Chandra Hardinge, at (760) 468-2012 or family friend Regina at (760) 828-6169.
