Emory Thurston celebrates 92nd birthday

Emory Thurston celebrated his 92nd birthday on June 20 with his family and friends.

He graduated from USC with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. He also served in the Navy during WWII and remained in the Naval Reserves for another 20 years, retiring as a Lt. Commander.

Thurston is well known to many as “Mr. Emory” at Ballet Society in Fallbrook, where he greets students and parents daily at the studio and at all performances.
