Classes helpful for cancer patients

The American Cancer Society offers a series of free monthly “I Can Cope” classes for cancer patients and caregivers.

The next session will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, and will cover “Managing the Effects of Illness and Treatment.” Participants can call in from the privacy of their home or office.

Information on nutrition, stress, strategies for managing concerns and recommendations for patients and caregivers will be provided by Donna Anderson, LCSW, a professional facilitator. Patients will have an opportunity to ask questions.

Future “I Can Cope” sessions will address self-esteem and intimacy.

Call the Society’s toll-free number (800) ACS-2345 by Wednesday, July 9, to pre-register.
