Boys & Girls Club gala a success

FALLBROOK — The Boys & Girls Club of North County held its annual auction and dinner gala on Saturday, May 31, at Pala Mesa Resort. This year’s title sponsor was Arlyne Ingold and the event carried the theme “Making Dreams Come True.”

“This event is the highlight of the Club’s fundraising program and benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of North County by providing necessary funds to continue critical programs and activities serving over 1,500 children and their families in the communities of Fallbrook, Bonsall and Pala,” said co-chairs Tracey Moe and Mary Mack. “Our goal this year was to net $180,000.”

Some 230 people attended the event and the club netted $160,000.

“Although we didn’t reach our goal we feel very fortunate that, considering recent misfortunes (fires and the condition or our economy), our community did a great job in supporting our kids,” Moe and Mack said.

The Boys & Girls Club budget is $1.5 million per year. These funds are made available through various fundraisers throughout the year and from outstanding community support.
