Marian Freeman

Marian Freeman passed away Sunday, June 22, at Tri-city Medical Center. She was born in Los Angeles in 1930.

Marian, or “Mimi,” as she was affectionately called by her family, is survived by sister Marge Hebard; daughter Cathi Elisser and son-in-law Peter; sister-in-law Shirley Kazarian; nieces Jo Martin and Julie Baker; and great-niece Kimi Sisti, along with several more great- and great-great nieces and nephews.

Marian was an active member of the Bonsall Woman’s Club (BWC) for 15 years and served in many positions, including co-first vice president, communications chair and hospitality. She was instrumental in the success of Magic of Christmas, one of BWC’s major fundraisers, continuing as manager of the craft shop for many years. She also co-chaired BWC’s golf tournament, Swing for Charity. Whenever anyone needed help, she was there to lend a hand.

Marian was chosen Volunteer of the Year in 2003 by the organization for her outstanding community service. She was also a BWC delegate to the Palomar District of Women’s Clubs for several years. She volunteered for a similar position next year.

Even during her illness, she continued to play bridge with friends from the BWC. She was a formidable opponent. She loved the club and was a dedicated and loyal member.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Marian will be laid to rest beside her parents at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood Hills.

Based on Mimi’s wishes, no services will be held. “I want people to drink a toast and remember me as I was. Do not feel sad for me because now I am free from all pain and at peace.”
