Annual Galaxy of Glass show adds larger artworks

FALLBROOK — The 11th annual Galaxy of Glass art show, sponsored by Fallbrook Propane Gas Co. and Ruth and Harry Freeman, will be open daily beginning July 6 and running through August 10 at the Fallbrook Art Center, 103 South Main at Alvarado.

A reception for artists will be held July 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. Artist Merrill Everett will speak at the reception at 6 p.m.

The show will feature a broad spectrum of handmade glass from artists and artisans across the region. Works for sale include sculpture, vessels, jewelry, lamps, paperweights, perfumers and functional ware created using a myriad of processes including blown, torched, slumped, fused and cast.

In addition to returning artists, the show will welcome eight additional artists as first-time participants.

Show hours will be Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays noon to 3 p.m.

On July 11, 19 and 25, during Hot Summer Nites and the Wine and “A Bite” Art Walk events, the show will be open until 7 p.m.
