Levering, Rothacher named Rotarians of Year

FALLBROOK — There were standing ovations and rounds of applause as Rotary Club of Fallbrook President David Kauffman surprised Betsy Levering and Larry Rothacher by announcing that both were being awarded the distinction of the club’s Rotarians of the Year.

While Levering and Rothacher were surprised and seemed humbled, the membership reception clearly endorsed the selections.

The honor and recognition award, which includes an attractive etched glass table commemorative, is given each year to an individual who goes beyond giving of their time and exemplifying the Rotary “Service above Self” motto.

“They don’t have to be asked, they just volunteer,” said Kauffman. “And they get it done and done right. Every year we see someone take this club to a new level. For that we are all grateful. People like Betsy and Larry make us all proud.”
